Linh Phuoc Pagoda is one of the most unique pagodas in Dalat City. It is about 8 km from the center of Dalat City. It was built mosaic style from glass, pottery and porcelain shards between 1949 and 1952 in a residential area south east of Dalat. Every wall, ceiling, pillar, Buddha, dragon and mythical creature in the pagoda are intricately inlaid with thousands of small pieces of broken glass, porcelain, terracotta and beer bottles. These special mosaic tiles gave the pagoda the nickname, Ve Chai, which literally means “pieces of broken glass bottles”. The most remarkable feature is the 49 meter long winding mosaic dragon set out on the campus of the pagoda. Its whole fins are coupled with the glass debris of 12000 bottles of beer. This is one of the most impressive work that attracted a lot of tourists and pilgrims who want to visit and worship at Linh Phuoc Pagoda.
