Back onboard, enjoy a leisurely lunch as we sail toward Ban Kok Fark.

Afterward, Bohème continues upstream toward the Xayaboury Dam, an impressive hydroelectric structure marking a significant point on the Mekong. Experience the fascinating passage through the dam’s locks, a highlight of the cruise.

The afternoon is devoted to onboard enrichment and relaxation. Take part in a Laotian cooking class, where the chef shares traditional recipes and local culinary secrets, followed by an expert-led cocktail class that blends fine spirits with regional ingredients.

As the day winds down, the cruise reaches the serene Talan Village, where we will moor overnight, surrounded by calm waters and the gentle sounds of the Mekong night.

Known as “The Land of a Million Elephants,” Laos takes great pride in its connection to these gentle giants. Today’s journey brings you to the Xayaboury Elephant Conservation Center, an authentic sanctuary devoted to protecting and rehabilitating these magnificent creatures.

During your visit, you will gain a deeper understanding of the center’s mission and the important work it carries out to preserve the elephant population.

The project not only provides a safe and nurturing environment for the elephants but also supports sustainable livelihoods for mahouts. The skilled caretakers who once trained elephants for work now dedicate their lives to their well-being.

Spend the day observing how mahouts, veterinarians, and the dedicated staff care for the elephants in this lush, natural setting. It’s a truly meaningful experience that highlights Laos’s commitment to conservation and respect for its most iconic animal.

After the excursion, enjoy a gourmet barbeque-inspired lunch by Tad Keo waterfalls, featuring delicious local flavors in a scenic riverside setting.
