Morning
As you wake up this morning, you would find yourself in the expansive Mekong River, at the town of Kampong Cham specifically. At this essential trade and transportation hub, we can witness the retained scattered small hamlets on its outskirts.
In Cheung Kok, locals adeptly craft various handmade items, spanning from food to fashion and everyday goods.
The nearby Bamboo bridge, erected seasonally, serves not just as a passageway but as a portal to the past.
We continue our journey to Angkor Ban by bus. The place includes a monastery with a delightful local village behind it. There, you have the opportunity to interact with the monks and might experience the local Cambodian life.
Besides touring activity, today’s itinerary also includes a culinary session.
Following the morning excursion, we reboard our luxury ship, sailing downstream towards Phnom Penh.
We have another culinary excursion today with a chè who used to work aboard the ship Jayavarman. The dish we will prepare is called “Samlor Korko” - a traditional soup with a century old recipe.
Afternoon
Prior to reaching Cambodia's capital, we make a stop at a small silk weaving community. Nestled at the confluence of the Tonle and Mekong Rivers is the village of Prek Bangkong, renowned for its silk weaving community.
This village served as the former residence of the Royal family before they relocated to the Royal Palace. Tourists have the chance to observe closely and learn about the intricate silk production process.
The tour will end by the time we come to the heritage house of a famous architect for the royal family, named H.E. Sam-El, to visit.
Evening
After a short sailing distance, we arrive in Phnom Penh, where the ship moors mid-stream, offering views of the city on the opposite bank.
