With charming beauty of countryside in the south Battambang, you will be impressed by friendly people and Khmer's architecture in temples. A stunning view from Sampove mountain will make your trip special than ever.

Half Day: South Battambang Half Day

12:00 Pick up at your hotel in Battambang then start the tour in the afternoon with a ride on the famous bamboo train.

The bamboo train is a 2.5m x 4m raft-like device that is made from bamboo for local villagers to transport their goods. There is only one track used for both directions so if you see someone coming in the other direction the drivers will have to decide which train has the lightest load.

After this unique experience we will explore the south of Battambang and drive to Cultural Village (Wa Kor Village) - the “homeland” for many Khmer traditional houses. Along the way, you will have chance to pass by Swing Bridgeon river.

Continue the route, we will see the Fruit bat and bat tree then Following the path to the top of a mountain, Wat Banan Temple will appear in front of you with an amazing scenery surrounding.

We drive through small villages and between rice fields in our tuktuk towards Phnom Sompov Mountain. The mountain is about 140 meters high and there are a total of 800 steps to reach the top. We will avoid climbing up the steps and take a motorbike to drive up the first part of the mountain to visit the Phnon Sampeau Temple, shrines, and killing caves used during the Khmer Rouge period. We will be able to look over all of Battambang and enjoy the vast and beautiful scenery.

We will end our journey before sunset by walking down the mountain steps and visiting the “Bat cave” – thousands of bats flying out of their caves in the mountain side at dusk.

The trip was filled with many activities. First, we got to ride the bamboo train. It was really fun.
And then we visited temples. Thailand temple architecture always amazed me.
Lastly, we enjoy the sunset at the bat cave. I have never seen anything like that before.

A great trip

This was the first time I ever been to Southeast Asian but Cambodia treated me so well.
The tour to Battambang was extraordinary. Everything I am introduced during the trip is amazing.
And I had a chance to ride the tuktuk car.
The best thing of the trip was the bat cave. I have never imagined that I could see a bat in real life. That was incredible.

Excellent Tour !

Battambang is an interesting place in Cambodia to visit. I enjoy the bamboo train very much. The tour guide speaks good Elish and is a kind person. 3 day Ha Long Bay experience

We organised with the brilliant Mia Nguyen at Best Price travel for a 3 day, 2 night tour with Orchid cruises on their nostalgia boat. Mia’s help and organisation was brilliant. Due to the typhoon we had to change plans but she was helpful, friendly and organised throughout. We genuinely could not have asked for more from her. The boat was clean, comfortable and with some absolutely brilliant staff. We are well, plenty of options and lots of food available. The trips we took from the boat were even better than expected. An amazing experience.
