After breakfast, travel to Cai Be, where the Mekong Ecolodge boat will meet you at Cai Be Tourist Pier for an immersive Mekong Delta adventure filled with family-friendly activities.
Begin with a visit to Cai Be Market and Com Candy Craft Village, where teens and adults alike can see how traditional sweets are made and sample fresh treats.
Continue to a nearby bee farm to learn about honey production and enjoy a cup of honey tea.
Next, cruise to Tan Phong Island, known for its lush orchards and tropical fruit gardens. Visit local farms growing fruits such as rambutan, longan, jackfruit, and durian.
Enjoy a traditional folk music performance at a local home while sampling fresh fruit and tea.
Afterward, take a peaceful sampan ride through the island’s narrow canals before arriving at Mekong Ecolodge for lunch and some time to relax.

Spend time exploring the ecolodge grounds, where you’ll find colorful flower gardens and fruit trees. Guests may have the opportunity to sample seasonal fruits picked fresh on site.
Around 4:00 PM, enjoy one of the day’s highlights - traditional fish catching in a muddy canal, a fun and hands-on activity that encourages teamwork and plenty of laughs.
Then head to the garden to harvest fresh vegetables for dinner.
Later, join the lodge’s chef for a cooking session using the vegetables and fish you collected, followed by a delicious homemade dinner.

All our tours and transfers went smoothly, and the service felt effortless. Our guides were excellent, especially Tom in Hanoi, who was friendly and knowledgeable. Hailey stayed in touch during the whole vacation to make sure everything was going well and that we were happy with the arrangements. She was always quick to respond and happy to assist with any questions.
Thanks to Hailey’s planning, the trip was truly memorable. My children enjoyed every single activity, and it was clear the itinerary was thoughtfully tailored to us. Out of all the places I’ve traveled, Vietnam really stands out. The warm people, rich culture, incredible food, and stunning scenery make it an ideal destination for families. And the coffee? We had private drivers and private guides throughout the trip. The highlights were the excursions to the countryside. The trip by boat to the Mekong Delta outside Ho Chi Minh and stay at the ecolodge was wonderful. We loved the rooms and atmosphere at the ecolodge. The trip to the ecolodge outside Hue and trip on the fishing boat was also wonderful. Both of these excursions included fun bicycling, visits with local crafts people, and genuine warmth and hospitality by the people we met along the way. The Halong Bay boat accommodations and tour guide (his name was Sunday) were another highlight. The cruise and kayaking was so beautiful and fun. We also especially enjoyed the motorbike tours in Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi. The walking food tours and cooking classes were good. So much yummy food! The airport pickup drivers, motorbike drivers, and local tour guides and drivers were always on-time, friendly, and accommodating. Our only criticism was the hotels. We stayed at 4-star hotels. The hotels were fine, but we wanted more charm and more of a boutique feel. I don’t know if the 5-star hotels would have been much better, but we needed more clarity on the hotels. The breakfast buffets at each location were generally good, with lots of choices, though the buffet at the property in Hanoi seemed a step-down compared to the others. The tour guides in each city were knowledgeable and aimed to please, though some spoke clearer English than others (Robin in Hue stood-out as extraordinary). Overall, it was a great trip at a very fair, reasonable cost. Everything was as promised from beginning to end with no shortcuts or changes to the detailed itinerary. Thank you!! Less
