Policies vary by cruise, but the general guideline is

  • Children under 5 years old: Free of charge (max. 2 kids), sharing everything with parents.
  • Children 5–10 or 11 years old: 60%–75% of the adult rate per night if sharing a bed with parents, or 85% if using an extra bed.
  • Children 11 or 12 years old and above: Charged as adults.

Yes. There are 2 cruises offering a kid corner and playground for your children, including Catherine, Grand Pioneers, and Calista Cruise.

Most cruises offer kid-friendly options such as sausages, fries, soup, or congee. Some 5-star cruises like Grand Pioneers and Calista even have a special kids’ menu with more dishes like sandwiches, spaghetti, pizza, and hamburgers.

Note: Parents should inform the staff in advance about their child’s ages and preferences so the chef can prepare accordingly.

Yes. Most of the luxury 5-star cruises in Halong Bay can provide comfortable baby cots to help your babies sleep well and stay safe, such as Capella, Hermes, and Catherine.
The babycot service fee is either free or an additional surcharge based on the different cruises' policies.

While Halong Bay cruises are very family-friendly and the crew are happy to assist with small requests (like providing baby cots or high chairs), there is no babysitting service on board. Parents should still supervise their children, especially during outdoor activities.

Many cruises provide kid-friendly facilities like

  • Game rooms or kid corners (Grand Pioneers, Calista, Catherine)
  • Waterslides for older kids (Capella)
  • Jacuzzi pools, cooking classes and board games (Most 4-, 5-star cruises)

Yes. Vegetarian meals are available on most cruises if requested in advance.

For halal meals, only selected cruises such as Mon Cheri and Catherine offer a proper halal menu.

We recommend informing the cruise at least 3–5 days before departure so the chef can prepare accordingly.

@Cinthia Brands:

Hi! We need your children' ages to give you exact information. At present, the Garden Sea Family cabin on Era should be the best option for your family, price is from $1276 for a 3-day-2-night cruise.

Please note that depending on your children's ages, you might need 1 more cabin or pay for surchage as children policy is only applied for maximum 2 children at the age under 12.

Hi, our family is looking for a 3 day 2 night around Halong Bay from December the 1st. We would need a cabin with 1 double bed and a single bed for our 4 year old son. We also have twin baby girls so we would need 1 cot (we’re travelling with one travel cot so we would need you to provide the other one), is this possible?

@Theodore:

Hi Theodore,

It is possible to add an extra bed and a baby cot for your kids. You can take a look at Mon Cheri, Peony, or Hermes Cruise.

I wanted to find out about the cruise with the double rooms. Can we get an extra bed for the kids? 6 and 10 years old.

@Matt:

We can put 1 extra bed in room, so the 6 year old one will share bed with parents.
