Tra Vinh To Can Tho Scenic Cycling 3 Days

We will kick off this adventure with a hotel pick-up in Ho Chi Minh City before traveling a few hours to My Tho, the gateway to the enchanting Mekong Delta. A ferry ride across the Tien River sets the stage for the day’s cycling journey.

The cycling adventure begins, travelers pedal through lush banana plantations, sugar cane fields, and peaceful village paths, and you’ll feel immersed in the beauty of rural Vietnam. The off-road sections add excitement as you navigate gravel and dirt trails, weaving through quiet hamlets, water channels, and dense greenery.

Our day wraps up with a ferry ride across the expansive Co Chien River to reach Tra Vinh,  a peaceful, tree-lined town with a significant Khmer population.

Today’s journey is truly special as we explore Tra Vinh, you will cycle through areas rich in Khmer culture and tradition. The peaceful roads are lined with fascinating Khmer architecture, offering countless photo opportunities and moments to pause and admire ancient temples.

A highlight of the day is Ba Om Pond, a sacred and legendary site surrounded by towering centuries-old trees with massive, exposed roots twisting into fascinating shapes. The cool, tranquil waters of the pond create a mystical atmosphere, while the dense forest offers the feeling of stepping into an ancient land.

This site is not only a natural wonder but also a spiritual center for the Khmer people, where cultural events and traditional fortune-telling rituals take place. En route, if possible, you will visit a Buddhist temple school, where young monks dedicate their days to meditation and scripture study.

As the journey continues, the peaceful countryside slowly gives way to the vibrant energy of Can Tho, the Mekong Delta’s largest city, located at the meeting point of the Can Tho and Hau Giang rivers.

We’ll wake up early to experience the famous Cai Rang floating market, a must-see in the Mekong Delta. A sampan will take us through the lively market, where boats are filled with fresh fruits and local goods, creating a colorful and bustling scene.

After exploring the market, we will travel through small canals and see the everyday life of people living along the waterways.

One of the day’s highlights is visiting a family that has been making rice noodles for over 30 years. You can try some steps of making noodles yourself and enjoy special crispy noodle pizza here.

To finish the trip, we will cycle to a fruit orchard and taste fresh tropical fruits before heading back to Ho Chi Minh City. This tour is not just a cycling adventure, it’s an unforgettable experience. Get ready to create memories that will last a lifetime!
