Bassac Cruise Mekong River

Morning

12:00: Our journey begins on the first day, you will meet our guide at Can Tho. Embark to the Bassac Cruise and check in your rooms. 

Lunch is served downstream to the Hau River. 

Afternoon

The ship sails through the Nicolai canal, towards the Co Chien and Mang Thit rivers. At this time, you can enjoy the view of rice fields, sugar cane, and woods around. 

In the middle of afternoon, the Bassac cruise will anchor to the shore. 

We start to discover the daily life of Delta’s rural area through tree lines, stretching rice fields, fruit farms and friendly locals here. Or you can try a cycling tour surrounding the countryside. 

Afterward, we come back to the ship and take a break on the deck. Find your seat around the bar and savor the unbreathing sunset.  

Evening

In the evening, our crew will prepare your dinner on Mang Thit River. Stay all night at Bassac Cruise.

Morning

At 6:00 Bassac cruise transfers to Cai Be before having breakfast. 

On the way to Cai Be, our cruise passes the Co Chien River and turns into Cho Lach Canal through the bustling traffic of sand and rice barges. View fruit-drying factories and wooden ship-building yards on the trip. 

Upon arrival, we get off the cruise and board on a rowing boat. Sail through a small canal if tide conditions seem good. Then meet with a local boat, which takes you to the shore for an exploration ofCai Be’s craft village.  

After visiting Cai Be in the middle of the morning, farewell with our guides and transfer to your departure point. 

NOTE:  You will permanently disembark from the Bassac upon boarding the small boat for the last visit, typically around8:00.

The Active Cho Lach Canal

Morning

8.30: Shuttle bus pick up from Ho Chi Minh City’s District 1. (for those who book the transfer service)

12.00: Boarding off Cai Be, having a welcome drink, listening to crew introduction then checking into the cabins. While on the cruise travel to Cho Lach on the Tien Giang River, having lunch en route and then resting on the deck.

Afternoon

The Bassac slips into the Cho Lach canal, and immerses in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the river traffic, between markets and churches, a unique opportunity for a glimpse of the very varied life on the banks as well as on the water.

Visit Cho Lach Canal

By mid-afternoon, the boat anchors for a visit on shore and has a quiet discovery of the peaceful life in the delta's countryside, see the rice fields, fruit trees, and welcoming inhabitants. You can also request a short cycling tour of the surrounding area.

Get back on board, resting and watching the glorious sunset on the sundeck. 

Evening 

Having dinner while cruising toward Mang Thit River. Anchor downstream from Tra On for the night.

Morning

6.00: The cruise starts to travel to Can Tho. Let's get on the sundeck and witness the glorious sunrise of the Mekong Delta and take many beautiful pictures.

Enjoy breakfast in the restaurant on board.

Arrival in Can Tho, transfer to a local boat to visit Cai Rang floating market, where you can buy dozens of goods from a variety of fruits, and vegetables, to clothes,... from the friendly merchants here.

Get a look at a small bamboo basket workshop and return to the Ninh Kieu pier. End of service.

13.30: Departure to Ho Chi Minh City at Can Tho Market Hall.
