My wife and I recently completed a 12-day tour of Vietnam, travelling from North to South, and it was an unforgettable experience. Thanks to Best Price Travel and the amazing Hang Moon. throughout the trip, Moon was with us every step of the way. Her communication was outstanding, staying in touch via WhatsApp and ensuring every part of our trip ran smoothly. The itinerary was well organised and balanced, covering all the highlights of Vietnam. Every detail, from airport transfers to hotel check-ins, tours, and internal transport was perfectly timed and stress free. The 4-star hotels we stayed in were fantastic, all including buffet breakfasts that exceeded our expectations. Lunches (when included) were set menus at reputable restaurants, giving us a real taste of Vietnamese cuisine. Our tour guides were knowledgeable, polite, and gave us plenty of time to explore and enjoy at our own pace. When our overnight Halong Bay cruise was unfortunately cut short due to bad weather, Best Price Travel quickly organised a private car to return us to our hotel without any delays. A refund was processed for the activities we missed was organised by our agent Moon. This was a hassle free experience, run by honest, professional people who really care about their clients. Each country has its own characteristics when mentioning the weather.
In Cambodia, there are 2 seasons around the year:
- Average temperature: 27-28°C
- Dry season (December - April) with north-east monsoon and hot wind blows
- Wet season (May - November) with increasing rainfall
Laos also has a tropical climate with dry and wet seasons:
- Average temperature: around 32°C
- Dry season (November - April) with both high and low temperatures
- Wet season (May - September) with monsoon and high humidity
Vietnam's weather is different from the two above countries due to its three main regions and their own distinct climate patterns.
- North: warm spring (February - April, ), hot summer (May - August), sunny autumn (September - November), and cold winter (December - January). The obvious difference in temperature is between summer, 28-38°C, and winter, 10-20°C.
- Central: dry season (February - August), storm season (September - October), and rainy season (November - January). The average temperature is 20-30°C.
- South: dry season (November - April) with low humidity and rainy season (May - October) with frequent downpours in the afternoon. The average temperature is 25-36°C.
So the greatest time to visit Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos is from November to April. During this period, there will be the least amount of rain with comfortable weather overall.

Yes, there are some specific visa requirements and visa exemptions for tourists when visiting Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. In general, three countries all accept visa exemption for citizens of ASEAN nations, together with some specific exceptions below:
- Vietnam: Citizens from Chile, Panama, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Norway, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom (Not applicable to BNO).
- Laos: Citizens of Japan, Korea, Russia, Luxembourg, and Switzerland.
- Cambodia: Citizens of Belarus, Brazil, Brunei, Bulgaria, China, Cuba, Ecuador, Hungary, India, Iran, Japan, Mongolia, Peru, Russia, Seychelles, Singapore, Slovakia, and South Korea.
There are also 2 common types of visa with different fees for travelers, which are Visa On Arrival and e-Visa.
- In Vietnam: VOA costs around US $20 - 40, and e-Visa is about US $45.
- In Laos: VOA takes US $30 - 50, e-Visa might take US $45.
- In Cambodia: VOA goes US $30, and e-Visa ranges from US $36 - 42.
You should prepare the following things when making a visa online:
- Clearly scanned file of a passport
- Photographs that are not taken from passport (size 4x6, no glass-wear)

Looking back, we probably tried to include too many destinations within a short period, which meant spending quite a bit of time flying between cities. We also noticed a clear difference between the tours in the two countries. In Thailand, there seemed to be more sightseeing opportunities and a wider range of food tastings compared to Vietnam. One highlight we would strongly recommend is the Thai Farm cooking class — it was very well organised and thoroughly enjoyable.
In Vietnam, the sightseeing program felt a bit more limited, although exploring by motorbike definitely added a sense of excitement. The food-tasting experience, however, could have been more varied. That said, our time in Hanoi stood out thanks to our fantastic guide, Jerry, who made the visit truly memorable.
Another point worth mentioning is that there was quite a bit of free time in the itinerary. While we do appreciate some personal time, on other private luxury tours we’ve taken, we were often dropped off in central areas to explore on our own before being picked up again later. It seems that private tour structures in Thailand and Vietnam may still be evolving, and hopefully they will continue to improve with more experience.
Compared with some of our previous private luxury tours in the Far East, we felt the overall value could have been better. The program could include more activities, particularly when it comes to street food tastings. Ideally, a tasting experience would feature several different small dishes to better showcase the flavours of each destination. Nevertheless, this does not diminish the excellent personal support we received from Mia.
Overall, the journey was fascinating. Experiencing daily life and witnessing the lively yet surprisingly organised traffic in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City was truly eye-opening. We found the Thai people to be incredibly polite and welcoming, while the Vietnamese were equally warm and friendly.
