At 08:00 - 08:30, you will be picked up from your hotel and begin a scenic 1.5-hour drive south of Chiang Mai, passing rolling hills, fertile farmland, and forested valleys. The changing landscape sets the tone for a day immersed in nature and wildlife.

Around 10:30, you’ll arrive at the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary and meet your local guide. A short jungle walk of 10 - 15 minutes brings you to the heart of the sanctuary, where you change into traditional Karen clothing and receive an engaging introduction about elephant anatomy, history, and behavior.

By 11:00, the highlight begins as you meet the elephants in their natural environment. Feed them fresh fruits, interact gently, and take photos while observing their playful personalities and unique social bonds.

At 12:00, enjoy a delicious Thai lunch of traditional dishes and seasonal fruit before continuing your adventure. By 13:00, it’s time to learn how to prepare herbal medicine balls, then join the elephants on a slow walk to the river. Together, you’ll bathe and brush them in the cool water, a heartwarming moment of connection.

Afternoon

The joy continues at 14:00, when you join the elephants in a therapeutic mud spa, coating them in cooling clay before rinsing off with a refreshing swim in the river and taking some funny photos with the elephants.

At 15:00, it is time to change back into dry clothes and bid a fond farewell to your gentle companions.

Depart the sanctuary at 15:30, you’ll return by the same scenic route, and arrive back at your hotel in Chiang Mai between 17:00 - 17:30, carrying with you cherished memories of a truly ethical and unforgettable elephant experience.

After breakfast, we will depart from Chiang Mai for Chiang Rai, a scenic drive of approximately 3.5 hours. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before starting your exploration.

Afternoon

Our first stop is the magnificent Wat Rong Khun (White Temple), renowned for its dazzling white exterior adorned with mirrored glass, making it one of Thailand’s most iconic landmarks. We then continue to the Blue Temple (Wat Rong Suea Ten), a relatively new yet stunning temple admired for its deep blue color and intricate details.

Next, visit Wat Phra Kaew, a historic temple once home to the sacred Emerald Buddha, one of Thailand’s most revered relics. The journey continues to the Black House (Baandum Museum), created by national artist Thawan Duchanee. In the afternoon, head towards the legendary Golden Triangle, where the borders of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar meet. Visit the Golden Buddha Statue, enjoy a boat ride on the Mekong River, and explore the Opium Museum, which tells the fascinating and turbulent history of the opium trade in this region.

Afterwards, transfer back to your hotel in Chiang Rai.
