Morning
Today, you trade the vibrant streets of Ho Chi Minh City for the serene waterways of the Mekong Delta, Vietnam’s lush and fertile southern heartland. Upon arrival at the Cai Be tourist pier, board your traditional wooden boat operated by Mekong Ecolodge, ready to cruise through a world shaped by rivers and canals.
Your first stop is the colorful Cai Be Floating Market, where local vendors glide across the water in small boats stacked with fruits, vegetables, and daily goods. Watch the lively exchange as produce changes hands from one boat to another - a floating bazaar that has thrived for generations.

From there, continue your journey to the nearby Com Candy Craft Village, where you’ll learn how sweet puffed rice treats are made. Sample freshly baked candy nuggets still warm from the fire, then move on to a local bee farm to sip fragrant honey tea and observe the buzzing production process firsthand.
Cruising deeper into the delta, your boat arrives at Tan Phong Island, a peaceful oasis known for its fruit-laden orchards. Here, durian, rambutan, jackfruit, and longan trees grow in abundance, creating a sensory feast for the whole family.
At a traditional garden home, you’ll be treated to a folk music exchange, where the melodic notes of southern Vietnamese instruments float on the breeze. Enjoy a cup of tea and a plate of fresh tropical fruit as you enjoy the performance.

Next, hop into a small boat for a peaceful ride through the narrow, tree-shaded canals that weave across Tan Phong Island.
After disembarking, check in at the charming Mekong Ecolodge, where a delicious lunch awaits and a comfortable room offers you a tranquil place to rest.
Afternoon
Explore the ecolodge’s lush grounds - wander through colorful flower gardens, pick fruits straight from the trees, and take in the rhythms of delta life.
Then, at around 16:00, join a local guide in the fun and muddy tradition of “slapping the ditch” to catch fish, just like the farmers do. You’ll also gather herbs and vegetables from the garden, all of which will be used in your evening meal.
Evening
As the sun dips over the coconut palms, gather to cook alongside the chef, using the ingredients you helped collect. This immersive farm-to-table experience ends with a cozy, shared family dinner full of laughter, stories, and the rich flavors of the Mekong.

The cruise was brilliant! I did a Tripadvisor review praising them and you - thank you for everything. The Angkor Wat day went OK, but it was so hot that David felt quite bad, but that’s not your fault. Best wishes, Frances
Very interesting and lots to do and see
We are good and had 2 great days in Siem Reap exploring a lot of temples. The tour guide June has been great, really nice guy. There were 8 on the tour and they were great people, which made the trip even more fun. We are having a great time in Cambodia. Thank you for all the work you have done, much appreciated.
Travel team did a great job putting everything together and making sure the whole trip ran smoothly.
Amazing range of activities, incredible food and friendly people.
