Peaceful, Beautiful Laos

We really enjoyed our time in Laos and honestly wish we had stayed longer. It’s such a beautiful, peaceful country with a special atmosphere that’s hard to describe — we instantly felt relaxed in Luang Prabang and fell in love with its charm.

Some of the highlights for us were the alms giving ceremony and visiting Kuang Si Waterfall — absolutely stunning. Luang Prabang itself was a favorite — calm, spiritual, and surrounded by natural beauty.

One thing we would recommend avoiding is any elephant experiences where the animals are chained or carrying seats on their backs. We were taken to one of these spots — not something we would have chosen ourselves. To his credit, our guide understood right away how uncomfortable we felt and was respectful of our decision to leave. We're glad he recognized the concern, but it’s something future travelers should be made aware of in advance.

As for our guide Kham, he was excellent — warm, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout the trip. He really helped us connect with the culture and history of the area. We’d give him a solid 9/10.

Overall, Laos was a wonderful experience and we’d definitely love to return someday — next time, for longer!

Thank you for the trip

Our tour of Laos had its ups and downs. While we enjoyed exploring different places, we felt a bit rushed at times. Some of the places we stayed weren't as comfy as we'd hoped. Still, our guides were friendly and taught us a lot about Laos. We loved joining the almsgiving ceremony in Luang Prabang and trying out local food. Overall, it was an okay trip, but there were some things that could have been better.
