Vietnam Cambodia Itinerary 10 Days, 2 Weeks or 3 Weeks?
We all work to earn money then use the money we earned for traveling. It is so difficult to figure out how long we should have for Vietnam and Cambodia itinerary. Only 2 countries but too many places to discover, so depending on your budget and preferences, which 10 days, 2 weeks or 3 weeks is enough? Let’s find the answer at the end of this article.
I plan 3 different itineraries for your trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. The first one is for 10 days, the second is a 14 – day trip and the last is a 3 – week plan. Let’s compare and consider what you would love to join.
Vietnam and Cambodia Itinerary 10 days
In the limited time of 10 days, it seems to be rushed to explore places in both Vietnam and Cambodia but nothing is impossible, follow my suggestions for a 10 - day trip between Vietnam and Cambodia as below.
Day 1: Hanoi
On your arrival at the airport, you will be picked up by our drive so that you do not have to worry about how to find the transfer from Noi Bai airport to Hanoi Old Quarter. Depending on your arrival, if you are early enough, you can join the Walking street food tour, traditional cooking class, or book a ticket for the Water Puppet Show.
Day 2: Halong Bay
You join a trip to Halong Bay - our Natural World Heritage. Kayaking, swimming, squid fishing, singing contests (karaoke), Taichi are popular activities you should not miss on this trip.

There is also a chance for you to try special local cuisine. Delicious dishes are cooked and decorated by 5-star chefs. And our professional tour guide will get your deeper experience by telling the story of Descending Dragon Bay, the tale of spring rolls, and the stories of local areas. You will have many things to tell your family after flying back.
Day 3: Halong – Hanoi
You get back to Hanoi and have free time to explore the city. Now, it’s time for you to explore our 1000 - year city by yourself.
Day 4: Hanoi – Da Nang
Time flies and it is Day 4 now. It’s time to go further to the south. You get a 1-hour flight from Hanoi to Da Nang, the biggest city in the middle of Vietnam. Well, it’s quite a modern city with high buildings, however, it also looks like a beautiful girl with many beautiful beaches along the coastline. In the north of Vietnam, we have 4 seasons as you know: spring, summer, fall, and winter. With the distance of a 1-hour flight, let’s say goodbye to the winter because you will hardly find it here in Da Nang. 2 seasons were explored here, which are hot and hotter.
Join a tour to get to a hotel near the beach, walk and enjoy the feeling of peace and freedom. And Da Nang is famous for its seafood, too.
Day 5: Da Nang – Ba Na Hills
Today is a day of traveling around and our tour guide will lead you to visit a must-see destination in Da Nang, Ba Na Hills, a part of Sun World Amusement Park Group and over 20 km away from Danang downtown. Sun World Ba Na Hills is the most significant resort and recreational complex of Vietnam. At the height of 1,487 m from the sea level, Sun World Ba Na Hills has coined the “heaven on earth” owing to its spectacular climate and otherworldly natural landscape. Just travel to Sun World Ba Na Hills and revel yourselves in the typical rotation of four seasons in a single day and numerous festivities, recreations and relaxation, and cuisine.

Day 6: Da Nang – Ho Chi Minh
Let’s the go-ahead to the south, the city with the name of our great president, Ho Chi Minh city. The flight costs the time of a cup of coffee and you will be picked up by our driver at the airport. The city tour and walking street tour are always available when you are ready. If you do not drink too much the day before, let’s get your shoes and see what the city has on a trip with our tour guide. Independence Palace, Ben Thanh market are some of the places you should never miss.
Day 7: Ho Chi Minh – Mekong delta
Let’s say goodbye to Ho Chi Minh City for a day and head to the area of Mekong delta (Cuu Long delta in Vietnam).
About 8:00, our tour guide will pick you up at your hotel. After a 1.5 hour drive, you arrive in My Tho, where you can visit Vinh Trang Pagoda then take a boat ride along the river to explore the rural life and visit the fruit plantations along the river banks. Then, you will be invited to Tortoise Island. Lunch is served in the orchard garden.

After lunch, you join a local boat to An Khanh (in Ben Tre) and enjoy cruising on a sampan under the shape of coconut trees along natural canals, sit down and relax by trying some seasonal fruit and honey tea and listen to the sound of “Southern Vietnamese folk music”.
After the trip, we drive you back to Ho Chi Minh City. Let’s relax after a day of full activities and pack your luggage for the flight the next day.
Day 8: Ho Chi Minh – Siem Reap
Let’s get a fast flight from Ho Chi Minh to Siem Reap in the morning. Our drive will be waiting for you at the airport on your arrival. Joining a cooking class to explore local dishes is an option for your trip.
Day 9: Siem Reap – Angkor Wat day trip
Let’s get up and enjoy a beautiful morning in Siem Reap. You will join a day trip to Angkor Wat, the largest religious structure in the world. With our professional tour guide, you surely can imagine the history and step back in the time of a great empire through the stories of local tour guides.

Day 10: Depart
10 days pass in a blink of an eye, let's fly back home and get back to work. Hope you refill your energy and have a beautiful time in Vietnam and Cambodia.
Cambodia Vietnam Itinerary 2 weeks
Day 1: Siem Reap
You are welcome at the airport by our driver, then he will drive you to your hotel in Siem Reap. The rest of the day is for leisure after your long flight. Try a street food tour or cooking class to expand your knowledge of local food. Besides, the Cambodian Circus Show in Siem Reap is always famous and you may love to see it.
Day 2: Siem Reap – Angkor bike tour
Well, I love to ride a bike and if you are the same, you would love to enjoy this tour. You will have a chance to enjoy a full-day tour to explore Angkor Archaeological Park and blend with nature. Angkor Wat, Bayon Temple, Ta Prohm, and the Terrace of the Elephants are the highlights of this trip.

Day 3: Seam Reap - Phnom Penh – Chau Doc
You get on the local speedboat to travel from Phnom Penh to Chau Doc, the border town of Vietnam. It must be a very nice experience to explore the riverbanks of the Mekong river.
Day 4: Mekong delta – Ho Chi Minh

Day 5: Ho Chi Minh – Cu Chi tunnel

Meet our tour guide at the hotel’s lobby, and let’s start our journey to Cu Chi Tunnels, which is about 70km far from Ho Chi Minh City. The attraction is a collection of underground tunnels and construction, from hospital bedrooms to ammunition storage used by North Vietnam’s army during the Civil War (1955 – 1975) as a military camp. You are provided opportunities to crawl along some of the tunnels for exploration more about the Vietnam War or touch a real gun with the firing-gun services here (with an additional charge).
Day 6: Ho Chi Minh – Da Nang
You get a 1-hour flight from Hanoi to Da Nang, the biggest city in the middle of Vietnam. Well, it’s quite a modern city with high buildings, however, it also looks like a beautiful girl with many beautiful beaches along the coastline. With the distance of a 1-hour flight, let’s say goodbye to winter because you will hardly find it here in Da Nang. 2 seasons were explored here, which are hot and hotter. Day 7: Da Nang – Hoi An
You get a car to Hoi An Ancient town to visit and get dinner there. Hoi An is beautiful with old houses and lanterns. Hoi An used to be a busy trading port from the 15th to the 19th century and it was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999.
Day 8: Da Nang – Hue
Let’s go to the Old Capital, Hue city. Imperial Citadel, tombs of the emperors Khai Dinh and Tu Duc, Thien Mu Pagoda, and Perfume River are must-visit places. You will join a city tour to explore these historic places and understand more about this beautiful city.

Day 10: Hue – Hanoi
Just a short time in Hue, however, I am sure that you will love the historic places, the food and especially, the hospitality of local people. A flight will be arranged between Hue and Hanoi, the present capital city. Arriving at Hanoi, you will be picked up by our driver, then you move to your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter.
Day 11: Hanoi – Ninh Binh
It is a one-day trip to Ninh Binh, Halong bay inland. The trip starts at 7 am and you are dropped back at the hotel around 18:30. Hoa Lu, Tam Coc, Tuyet Tinh Coc, Bich Dong pagoda, and biking tours are activities you will join. Buffet lunch at a famous restaurant will keep in your mind this majestic place throughout your lifetime.
Day 12: Hanoi – Halong

Let’s have a shower then come down to the hotel lobby at 17:00 to meet our tour guide, who will introduce to you the best food and beers in Hanoi and the stories of this 1000 – year city.
Day 14: Depart
It’s the end of the trip. You fly back home and we hope to see you again next year.
Vietnam and Cambodia Itinerary 3 weeks
Day 1: Arrival Hanoi
Hanoi Our driver picks you up at the airport and then drives you to your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter.
Day 2 + 3 +4: Hanoi – Halong - Sapa

At 21:40, you get a sleeper bus from Hanoi to Sapa town.
Day 5, 6: Sapa
Well, Sapa is the best place for those who love nature and trekking. On the first day, you go trekking to pass Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai, Ta Van village. 12km of trekking will burn your “fat” well. You will sleep at the local homestay at night.

The second day in Sapa starts with your trekking to Su Pan village, then you are driven back to the hotel in Sapa for relaxing.
Day 7: Sapa – Hanoi
Cat Cat village is the last one you visit on this trip. It is beautiful with many flowers and waterfalls and the smile of the locals
Day 8: Hanoi cooking class + museum + street food
You go from Sapa to Hanoi with the overnight bus then check-in at your hotel. The day is free and you can go to visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Fine Art Museum, National Historic Museum, Temple of Literature then join a street food tour to enjoy local food. Day 9: Hanoi – Ninh Binh
The “Halong bay inland” – Ninh Binh is also very famous for its big Pagoda. A day trip to Bai Dinh and Trang An will enrich your knowledge of Buddhism and the ecosystem in Ninh Binh.

You get a flight from Danang to Ho Chi Minh city. The rest of the day is leisure time that you can explore the city by yourself.
Day 13: Ho Chi Minh full day
Enjoy the attraction of Ho Chi Minh City. Sightseeing examples of French colonial architecture and exploring Vietnam's turbulence in the past at the War Remnants Museum. Our guide will show you the most interesting sights that Ho Chi Minh City has to offer. Depart from your hotel to the Reunification Palace; this beautifully preserved palace was the residence of the President of the Republic of Vietnam. On April 30th, 1975 the American War officially came to an end here.
Afterward, we visit Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, which was built in 1880, and the Old Post Office, which was built sometime between 1886 and 1891. It is one of the best examples of classical French colonial architecture. Our last stop would be at a local market where you can practice your bargaining skills while shopping for souvenirs. Discover local life and culture. You’ll find some of the friendliest, liveliest, most convivial people in the city here.

Day 15: Chau Doc – Phnom Penh
The morning speedboat takes you on a short tour to explore the Mekong river.
Day 16: Phnom Penh city tour
After breakfast, we will visit the ornate Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda with a floor that is laid with more than 5,000 tiles made of silver. Then followed by a tour of Tuol Sleng museum, a former school turned concentration camp under Khmer Rouge Regime.

Day 17: Phnom Penh day tour - Historical Phnom Penh Tour
Let’s see a tough and tragic time in the history of Cambodian, and how the country was rebuilt. You will have an opportunity to hear the true personal stories of that dark period, visit Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the Killing Fields.
Day 18, 19: Fly to Siem Reap & Angkor Wat
