Highly recommended!!!

I highly recommend Best Price Travel for our trip to Myanmar. A very beautiful tour, every detail was perfect. All hotels were well chosen: very nice view; large rooms, excellent service huge breakfasts. Our tour guides were so good in both knowledge and English. We are very grateful to Tansy for the organization of this wonderful trip.

Myanmar (Burma), the "Golden Land" in Southeast Asia, has a 2,000-km long coastline, broad plains scattered with brilliant golden pagodas, and harsh mountainous terrain. It gives adventurous tourists a peek at old Indochina and the different natural landscapes from each region of the country. Visiting Myanmar is like stepping back in time, where ancient traditions meet the modern world. The country's charm lies in its untamed beauty, its friendly people, and the sense of adventure that awaits at every turn. You will have the chance to engage in all the must-have experiences like taking a boat trip on Inle Lake, trekking through Shan State, or discovering the ancient city of Mrauk U. The magnificent places found in this Golden Kingdom will undoubtedly offer you memorable experiences!

Transportation

Myanmar's most popular transportation options include using an airplane, taking a bus, and renting a vehicle. Here are some notable details that you must know:

  • Boats seem to be the romantic way to travel in Myanmar.
  • In contrast to luxury boat trips, the train is almost always sluggish and unreliable, but it offers a leisurely and intriguing picture of the nation and lets tourists engage with the inhabitants.
  • In most towns and cities in Myanmar, taxis are reasonably priced and widely available.
  • Traveling by bus is low-cost but still quite pleasant with the routes that cross much of the nation. It is possible to book seats on contemporary, luxurious VIP coaches for overnight trips.
  • Cycling and walking are common leisure activities in certain rural areas, and the lack of traffic makes this choice even more appealing.

Map & Itinerary

The number of days you should spend in Myanmar depends on your interests, the destinations you wish to cover, and the pace you prefer to travel. However, to have a well-rounded experience and explore some of the major highlights, a suggested itinerary would be around 10 to 14 days. You can consider some ideal itineraries below:

Weather & Best time to go

There are three distinct seasons in Myanmar's tropical to subtropical monsoon climate:

  • The hot season from March to May has dry inter-monsoonal weather. The average temperature is about 30-35°C.
  • The wet season from June to late October is affected by the southwest monsoon. The average temperature is 25-30°C.
  • The dry season from late November to February is comparatively chilly. The average temperature is 20-24°C.
Visa

A six-month passport is required for any visitor when visiting Myanmar. It is important to verify with the Myanmar embassy in your place of residency before making travel arrangements, as visa requirements might change often. Since the tourist visas on arrival (VOA) are no longer available in Myanmar, you may apply for a Myanmar tourist visa online (eVisa) or in person at a Myanmar Embassy.

To get eVisa, you should go to www.evisa.moip.gov.mm and fill out the application form. The needed documents are:

  • A passport with a validity of at least 6 months after the arrival date;
  • One color photo (4.8cm x 3.8cm) taken during the last 3 months
  • A visa or master credit card for the visa fee of US $50

Notes:

1. Children over 7 years require their own visas, while children under 7 years old should be mentioned on the form as well.

2. Your application will be processed within 5 working days.

3. There are 2 types: Tourist eVisa and Business eVisa, which are applied for specific nationals from different countries. Remember to check the updated information on the link above.
