Authentic Hoi An - Cooking Class & Biking Full Day

Morning

Your experience begins with a guided visit to the bustling Hoi An Market. During the first hour and a half, you will explore a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, and local ingredients commonly found in Central Vietnam.

Your guide will explain the health benefits of these natural products and how Vietnamese people incorporate them not only into their cuisine but also into their traditional wellness practices. As you walk through the market, you’ll have the chance to taste several local specialties - some of which may surprise you!

From the market wharf, you will board a boat to travel along the Thu Bon River Delta to a small island that has preserved its authentic charm. Here, you will visit local home and meet the guide’s grandmother.

In the tranquility of the shaded garden, you will learn to make your own rice cakes. Your guide will share insights about traditional central Vietnamese cuisine as you prepare each dish yourself. Afterwards, you will enjoy your creations while relaxing under the coconut trees. Together, you will prepare 4 dishes:

• Banh Xeo (Hoi An–style rice flour pancakes)
• Grilled pork skewers marinated in a special sauce
• Green papaya salad
• Fish prepared according to a local recipe

NOTE: A vegetarian menu can also be arranged upon request. Dishes may vary by season.

Afternoon

After your meal, you will set off on a bicycle ride to explore the true heart of rural Vietnam. Following small village paths, you will discover traditional shipyards where wooden boats have been made the same way for centuries.

You will learn the secrets behind weaving cane mats and gain insight into the work carried out in the rice fields. You’ll also see how rice wine is produced and enjoy countless scenes of daily life along the way.
