Mekong Delta Tour Experience
We booked the Mekong Delta tour just a day before the trip, and My Uyen at the BestPrice Travel office assisted us. She suggested several options, the prices were reasonable, and everything was arranged immediately so we could go the next day. Her service was professional, friendly, and efficient.
Jason, our guide, contacted us in advance to let us know the pickup time and kept us updated throughout the day. The bus ride to the Mekong Delta took about two hours, with a pleasant stop along the way. The return trip to Ho Chi Minh City was direct and a bit tiring, but it was manageable.
Jason was entertaining and attentive to everyone, sharing lots of information about local history and culture. During the traditional Vietnamese music performance, the singers placed a tip basket in front of us. When they noticed nearby customers hadn’t tipped, they nudged the basket toward them again, which felt a little excessive. We tipped after seeing the situation at the neighboring table.
For those who skip breakfast, it’s a good idea to bring some snacks because the shared lunch for six people was small, meaning faster eaters ended up with more.
We didn’t get a chance to do catfish fishing, and we only realized after leaving that the crocodile cages were at the same location as the lunch area. Jason probably forgot to mention this, so we missed seeing them separately after lunch.
Overall, it was a well-organized tour with excellent guidance, though a few small details could have been improved.
