Toum Tiou II Cruise

Vietnam - Cambodia: Ho Chi Minh City - Phnom Penh - Siem Reap

Toum Tiou II Cruise - A superb boutique style vessel. Different from other Mekong River boats in same standard, Toum Tiou II delivers authentic experiences between Siem Reap and Saigon and get tourists close into local daily life. The vessel's understated elegance is reflected in the harmonious blend of colonial style and traditional design, which lends the Toum Tiou II a sophisticated yet charming ambiance. All of 14 spacious cabins feature charming wood panelling, private bathroom facilities, air condition and panoramic picture windows. The most celebrated feature of the Toum Tiou II is the expansive, covered observation deck – with rattan and wicker armchairs and sun lounges which is perfect for watching the local life along the river banks. Classic Khmer specialities and other regional dishes feature along with a range of international meals. International wines, spirits and beers are available any time. The undercover dining area is open throughout the day and many choose to sit here as we cruise with a cold drink and good book. If you prefer to travel in a less conspicuous fashion, with a smaller group of international guests and be well looked after by an attentive staff – Toum Tiou is an excellent choice for your Mekong cruises.

Very Good

shore excursions in Vietnam were with vendors where it was expected that money be spent, and that the guide recieve a tip, even though it was clear that the guide was receiving a fee for bringing the group

Of everything we really enjoyed the Mekong River cruise. Everyday was an adventure and we can't say enough about Sin Saroeun, our CEO/guide. He was so attentive and concerned about everyone on board.

The shore excursions were very good and well planned. They were not just ordinary and routine sightseeing trips. Instead, we went to visit the poorer minority groups and support the handmade small industries. We were told that in some cases the organizer paid for their demonstration instead of getting… More

The ship is small. No facilities on board except a sun deck. No activities except one Apsara show. You may find an evening boring. The cabins are much too small. No chairs inside, there is only one small stool. The room is even not big enough for 2 big fat men. If the sun deck is windy you can only… More

the cruise was great, and we really enjoyed it. I highly recommend it and also the Indochine which followed much the same schedule.

The cruise was extremely enjoyable – good itinerary, wonderful friendly and helpful staff, and great food. Good value mid-range cruise.

Cabins are small, and ours (at the front of the boat) had little head room, with my husband frequently hitting his head on the light shades. Double beds are not really an option

The Toum Tiou II is a very comfortable riverboat. The staff, especially the Cruise Director, Kush and the cook, Sitha were outstanding. The week went by very fast and we got a very good view of life along the Mekong. Highly recommend.

While hardly a complaint there wasn't a lot of time to just kick back and watch the world go by with all the daytime activities ashore. It might have been slightly better not to have so many visits to small local industries and instead more time to wander around the towns and villages along the way. More
