Krabi - Thailand

Spending your precious vacation in Krabi is so great an idea that you can stay away from the bustling urban life plus disconnect with the stressful daily tasks to refresh yourself.

History of Krabi

According to archaeological evidence, especially the many cliffs and caves that are marked with stone tools, ancient colored pictures, beads, pottery, and skeletal remains, Krabi is thought to have been a prehistoric community and home to Homo Sapiens millions of years ago, which means the existence of Krabi has taken place for a very long time.

In the past, it was called "Ban Thai Samour" and one of twelve towns that were used during the prehistory. At the start of the Rattanakosin or Bangkok period in the late eighteenth century, an elephant kraal was established in Krabi by order of Chao Praya Nakorn, the governor of Nakhon Si Thammarat, which was by then a part of the Thai Kingdom. Afterward, a great number of people immigrated here; therefore, Krabi soon has a large community in three different boroughs: Pakasai, Khlong Pon, and Pak Lao. In 1872, King Chulalongkorn elevated these to town status, called Krabi. The town was first governed by Luang Thep Sena, though it was still a dependency of Nakhon Si Thammarat for a while. This was changed in 1875 when Krabi became a fourth-level town in the old system of the Thai government. Administrators then reported directly to the central government in Bangkok, and Krabi's history as an entity separate from other provinces had begun.
