3 day Ha Long Bay experience
by Tripadvisor
We organised with the brilliant Mia Nguyen at Best Price travel for a 3 day, 2 night tour with Orchid cruises on their nostalgia boat.
Mia’s help and organisation was brilliant. Due to the typhoon we had to change plans but she was helpful, friendly and organised throughout. We genuinely could not have asked for more from her.
The boat was clean, comfortable and with some absolutely brilliant staff. We are well, plenty of options and lots of food available.
The trips we took from the boat were even better than expected. An amazing experience.

I went on this trip with two friends, and we all agreed it was one of the best experiences of our holiday in Vietnam. The schedule was full, but there was enough time to rest and enjoy the scenery. We laughed a lot at the homestay while trying the local rice wine. It felt like we got to see the real side of the country, far away from the usual tourist areas.
I joined this tour with my partner, and we both loved it. The mix of homestay and hotel made the trip very comfortable while still giving us an authentic local touch. The food could have been better, but overall it was fine. The highlight for us was sitting on the jeep and looking over the valleys at Ma Pi Leng Pass.
Honestly one of the best tours I’ve done in Asia. The landscapes in Dong Van and Ha Giang are beyond words. I especially loved visiting the local markets and seeing the colorful outfits of the ethnic groups. The ride through the mountains felt adventurous but safe. Big thanks to the guide who explained so much about the culture.
This was exactly the kind of trip I was hoping for. The scenery in Ha Giang is dramatic and so different from the rest of Vietnam. I really appreciated that the tour wasn’t just about sightseeing but also about meeting local people. Sharing dinner with the Thai family on the first night was such a heartwarming memory.
For me, the most memorable moment was standing at the viewpoint on Ma Pi Leng Pass. The view was beyond imagination. I also enjoyed the calmness of the villages where we stayed. It was not luxury travel, but very authentic and special.
