Morning
At 10:00, gather at Cai Be Jetty where you will be welcomed by the cruise staff with a cold towel and a refreshing drink to board the Cai Be Princess Sampan. As you settle down, the cruise gradually starts its journey through the waterway of the Mekong Delta.
We just leisurely enjoy the lush natural surroundings and attentive service of the Cai Be Princess. There are tea and seasonal fruits prepared beforehand for passengers too.
First off, we will travel through date and time to visit the house built in the 19th century to see how the ancient locals lived.
Next, we have a chance to explore cottage industries of this region which are coconut candy and puffed rice making.
We will have a meal in colonial style at the Le Longanier Restaurant. Setting by a river, this place is covered in tropical trees, along with the decoration theme to replicate the privileged life during Indochinese times.
Afternoon
In the afternoon, re-board the Cai Be Princess and continue your cruise towards Vinh Long through the Dong Phu Canal.
Along the way, you'll pass through Binh Hoa Phuoc and An Binh, two charming islands renowned for their abundant fruit orchards.
We might pause on the way to visit the historic Cai Be Church.
Crossing the Co Chien River, our sampan docks at Vinh Long Pier at around 16:00, then there will be a personal vehicle waiting to drive you to Can Tho.

About Cai Be Princess Sampan
Cai Be Princess is one of the few private sampans in the Mekong Delta. It is a great choice for travellers who prefer Sampans with a traditional design style and ultimate privacy.
Let’s join us in this journey to explore lively floating markets with the riches of colorful fresh fruits and vegetables from Mekong’s gardens. This is also a great opportunity to take a glimpse into the agricultural, rural life of people at the delta region by visiting local workshops that produce various handmade souvenirs from rice and coconuts.

The calm waterways, lush orchards, and traditional villages offered a beautiful glimpse into local life. I loved visiting the ancient house, Cai Be Church, and small workshops where friendly locals showed us how coconut candy and puffed rice are made. The atmosphere felt so warm and welcoming, perfectly matching the pleasant tropical climate. Ending the journey with lunch at the charming Le Longanier Restaurant made the whole trip truly special. We had a fantastic day with our tour guide. She was fantastic. She was informative and kept us moving at a comfortable speed. She answered our inquiries and was an overall excellent guide.
We stopped for lunch in a wonderful location and visited an ancient typical home, a candy factory, and tiny canals.
It was Vietnam's wonderful decision for our trip from Ho Chi Minh to Can Tho.
We took a full day cruise on our private boat with air conditioning. The guide and crew were excellent, and the food was tasty. It was nice to traverse off the beaten path for a bit.
The morning visit to the mangroves and local houses was somewhat depressing due to harsh weather. The best way to experience the authentic Mekong Delta anyways. The boats are exceptionally nice.

After around 2 hours, we parked and boarded a river boat. We accomplished this by jumping between different vessels. We explored the river, passing by fish traps and coconut orchards as we made our way through jungle canals. We stopped at a coconut plantation and sampled snake wine and coconut candies. Snake wine smelled and tasted like sake. We were treated like kings and queens. All the time drifting quietly down the river. All too soon, it was time to travel into the increasingly congested traffic of Saigon. We consider ourselves fortunate to have had the opportunity to experience a great rural break and authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Less
