Morning

Welcome guests at the Thai immigration office between 9:00 - 9:30 AM. Then our team assist you with all immigration procedures. Follow is the transfer to the boat & check-in at Huay Xai Pier. We start to cruise along the river and enjoy the beautiful landscape.

Afternoon

In the afternoon, we will arrive at our first stop, named Khon Teun village of the Tai Lu ethnic minority, where you can see many wooden sculptures. The local people here practice long-held traditions and techniques of weaving handmade garments with distinguishing patterns. We also can arrange an optional meditation session (limited availability) for you at a lovely temple nearby.

Back to the main boat and continue cruising to the overnight sport. We will organize a nice and interesting preparation about Laotian elephants and their cultural importance. The next day you will have a chance to meet fascinating creatures in an elephant sanctuary.

Evening

Dinner is served in Anouvong's elegant De-Lagree Dining Hall. After then, you can enjoy the movie named “Chang” (Laos and Thai, for “elephant”) at night.

Morning

Enjoy the first sunrise on the Mekong River and exercise in the morning Tai Chi.

After breakfast, we arrive in the small town of Pakbeng and start visiting the elephant sanctuary. All the elephants here used to work as logging elephants after their time as working animals. They lack the ability to live and survive in the wild. The sanctuary is committed to the tenets of ecotourism and sustainability. We continue to cruise through stunning scenery while enjoying lunch in the dining room.

Afternoon

Afternoon we arrive at the village of Kok Aek, where the local ethnic Lao, Khmu, and Hmong live. People here set up a little parcel of land as an organic garden, caringly maintained and enclosed by bamboo fences and growing organic vegetables, fruits, and herbs. Let's talk with villagers to explore their daily life, and don't forget to try a local specialty, "kai paen", a delicious cuisine made from dried freshwater "seaweed" topped with sesame and vegetables.

After an afternoon excursion, we come back to the cruise for break time and enjoy spa treatments onboard while the cruise departs to an overnight anchor spot near a small village.

Extra: If we arrive on time and the daylight allows, we can have a short stroll in this peaceful village. Although it doesn't have electronics or any modernity, the kindness and hospitality of villagers will warm your heart.

Evening

We'll enjoy our dinner with a highlight cuisine on a sandbank overnight with an aperitif. Let's enjoy delicious food and fascinating traditional performances of "Khene" ( a handheld, ancient instrument made of bamboo and originating here in Laos) from locals onboard

Morning

After breakfast, a morning lecture provides us with interesting insights and facts about Laotian culture relating to the diverse tribes living along the upper Mekong. The rest of the morning is at your disposal as we sail through lush vegetation and past gently rolling verdant hills.

We will join a unique experience. Paddle along a peacefully flowing stream on kayaking, relax, enjoy the natural beauty, and immerse yourself in this special trip. You may like to paddle all the way to the famous caves of Pak Ou, which is our next stop.

• Go ashore, where we will meet the local “medicine man” who takes us on a jungle trek explaining various interesting facts and astonishing features about the flora and nature in this area.
• Get inside the village, you will be able to observe local weaving and find here as well ‘the art of local whisky distilling.
• Then visit the famous Pak Ou Caves, where you can see two limestone grottoes that house approximately 4,000 sacred Buddhist statues and images.

Lunch is served on board.

Afternoon

We will continue to cruise next 2 - 3 hours. During this time, we will meet Mr. Francis Engelmann, who used to work for UNESCO on heritage preservation projects in Laos, to hear his fantastic presentation about Laos's cultural heritage and fascinating history.

Late afternoon we will arrive at the small town of Luang Prabang, where you can stroll through the small streets on your own to mesmerizing charms of this old town.

Evening

We'll spend all night recharging our energy onboard after a long day.

Morning

After breakfast, we will explore the most unique and charming city - Luang Prabang. Start the walking tour to discover the ancient town in about 3.5 hours.

• See Luang Prabang’s distinct architecture and hear interesting stories about the houses and the places we pass. We stroll leisurely along with the crisscross of small roads and streets lined with antique structures and mango trees.
• On the way to visit, we'll stop at the Lamache, which originally housed noble households, and later served as the royal family's designated ice cream supplier. This is also a perfect place for a "Lao Tea Break" with Lao coffee or herbal tea, traditional snacks, and artisan ice-cream

Afternoon

We return the boat for lunch and continued in the afternoon on our discovery of Luang Prabang.

• In the afternoon, we will visit Royal Palace, which displays interesting local art and other exhibits which used to belong to the Lao royal family. This is now National Museum
• After that, you will have free time on your own to discover this town by walking around this lovely city, or you just pick one of the inviting street cafes and enjoy this wonderful air before returning to the ship.

Evening

Let's enjoy sunset aperitif on the terrace deck and watch classical local dance or music performances. After dinner, the rest of the evening can be spent exploring the night market or back on board.

Morning

Let's wake up very early morning to join a special morning alms round called "Tak Bat" - a Buddhist spiritual tradition for Lao people that dates back generations. Then walk through the morning market and see the town comes to life and return to the main boat for breakfast while we continue our journey further downstream on the Mekong River.

• We start the morning excursion at an innovative and socially responsible Laos Buffalo Dairy Farm. It is interesting to see how various dairy products, such as cheeses, ice cream, and yogurt, are made locally and distributed to local markets.
• We continue with a visit to a breathtaking sight - the Kuang Si waterfall with its rushing turquoise waters. It is a pleasure to hike through the surrounding natural park and immerse yourself in the natural pools at the waterfall’s base.

Afternoon

Before arriving at the nation's famous dam and hydroelectric power plant, we'll join a lecture about the role of energy production in Laos’ economy and how the country is set to become the ‘battery’ of Southeast Asia.

• We will cruise toward the nation’s famous dam and hydroelectric power plant - Xayaburi Hydroelectric Dam. We will have a short tour to discover this enormous structure.

Evening

Our ship will anchor near the Southern side of the dam midstream at a sandbank. Let's enjoy some cocktails with the sand under your feet before savoring a lovely dinner on the terrace deck and overnight on board.

Morning

After a good morning with Tai Chi Class or Yoga on the terrace, we will offer you 2 different excursions to choose from.

Option 1: Set out in a long-tail boat and go on an exploratory and adventurous joyride upstream through the lush jungle along the remote, beautiful Nam Fuang River. We stop over at the shore to explain some facts about the interesting jungle life of the local tribes residing in this area.

Option 2: You also can stroll through the small village of Khok Akha. The elevated location of the village allows for some great views of the meandering Mekong to take home some great photos.

Afternoon

In the afternoon, we stop at Don Saynhan village, where we take a short local “Tuk Tuk” ride to visit the so-called Khao Cave. For many generations, a sizable bat population has called the cave home. The cave also provides the hamlet with extremely effective fertilizer. Let's venture inside and discover the stalagmites and stalactites.

Keep cruising to Pak Lay village, where we stop for the night.

Evening

After enjoying dinner, let's see the daily open-air cinema under the starlight on the sundeck with various classic movies

Morning

Fill full your stomach with a hardy breakfast before enjoying this morning's kayaking excursion. This is a perfect time for you to admire the scenery of the Mekong River with its calmness and charming water. The ship travels along the Thai-Lao border, and the big Buddha greeting us from the opposite beach serves as a reminder of something.

Afternoon

• After lunch, we stop at Phalat village, a small hamlet that looks over the Mekong.
• We take “Tuk Tuk” to a nearby chopstick factory. Here you will learn how chopsticks become perfectly round, and all have the same dimensions.

Evening

We make our way to one of the deserted sandbanks, where we moor for your final night. Step off Anouvong onto the sandbank and savor a barbecue dinner in a wonderfully remote and romantic setting.

After dinner is your free time to recharge energy in the lavish cabin.

Morning

Enjoy your last sunrise aboard with a morning Thai Chi or Yoga, the breakfast will be followed. Today you can take a long leisurely breakfast as we voyage towards Vientiane.

During the morning, our local guide presents a lecture on the history of Lao royalty, focusing on King Anouvong – this vessel’s namesake.

Around midday, we arrive in Laos’ capital, Vientiane. Our team assists with your check-out and helps with your luggage.
