Every name has a myth…
Once upon a time, there was a husband and wife named Lanh, came here from the middle part of Vietnam. As a straightforward and upright person, the husband was promoted to be the legal representative men of the area. In 1820, the cholera spread out and many locals died. At the time, there was no medicines and medical measures, so people believed that this is a punishment coming from God and Mr.Lanh set out to create a praying altar to stop the disease. After that, Mr. Lanh and his wife are both infected and died. The locals inhumed them right before the disappearance of the cholera and take the name Cau Lanh to memorize them. The name Cao Lanh today is just another version of Cau Lanh.

What to see?
When in Cao Lanh, visitors can visit the Nguyen Sinh Sac Complex that honors Ho Chi Minh’s father including the Grave and the Memorable House with stilted house and fish pond in an area of 3.6 hectares.
