A trip to the Chiang Mai Night Safari is always known as a spectacular sight to enjoy for people of all ages. Many people consider it as the most beautiful Night Safari in the world. Twice the size of the Singapore Night Safari, it stands on over 300 acres and just 10 kilometer from Chiang Mai’s center.

Visitors can arrange their own transport to reach the Chiang Mai Night Safari. Or else, there is a free return mini bus running every evening from outside the Tourist Police office in the middle of the Night Bazaar.

Chiangmai Night Safari is well-known for being one of the most popular tourist attractions in Chiangmai province, northern Thailand because of its natural surrounding and beautiful appearance, which can help people reduce their stress. This is a good place for family members to meet each other, love couples to celebrate their special occasions, long-time-no-see friends to celebrate friendship, parents to bring their children and grandchildren to learn about the outside world, or schools to bring students out to education trips. The Jaguar Trail Zone - a day time area consists of a 1.2km walking trail around a really lovely lake. There are more than 400 animals to take a look here including White Tigers, Tapirs, Monkeys, Jaguars, Leopards, Camels, Cranes, miniature Horses and they even have koalas and wallabies. The walking trail is often open between 11 am and 10 pm daily and costs 100THB adults and 50THB for children. If the walk is too long for anyone, they have Segways for hiring (2pm to 10pm).

The night - time area is divided into two zones, the Predator Prowl Zone and the Savanna Safari Zone. These parts are open from 6pm to midnight daily. Explorers travel through the different zones in the Night Safari in an open - sided tram. The tram ride is around 5km and takes approximately 1hr to get around. Trams usually run from 7pm till 10.30pm, with a tram every 15mins. Cost that people must pay for the night time area is 800 THB adults and 400 THB children. This ticket includes tram rides and other entertainment.

The Savanna Safari Zone is well-known for being the house of over 300 animals including White Rhinos, Zebras, Cheetahs, Wildebeests, Hyenas, Lions, Giraffes, Ostriches and Water Buffalos and there are even Kangaroos, Dingos and Emus. The Predator Prowl Zone houses more than 200 animals including African Hunting Dogs, Vultures, White Tigers, Lions, Wolves, Canadian Wolf, Asiatic Black Bears and Crocodiles. Here people can see all the zoo animals from the safety of an open sided tram. As visitors drive around the zones, the tram operator puts a spotlight on to the animals in the various enclosures and his assistant often tells about the different kind of animals. In some sections that you drive through the animals like antelope and deer are standing right beside the roadway.

One interesting feature of a trip to the Night Safari is the nightly musical fountain and water screen Laser Light Show. There are two shows: the first one is at 8pm and the rest is at 9pm. They are absolutely spectacular. People can sit or stand around a really huge fountain’s foreshore and watch the display broadcast through cascading water sprays and out over the waters. While visitors are there, do check out the Photo Corner open from 6.30pm to 9pm where you can have your photo taken by a professional photographer with some of the baby animals like tigers, crocodiles, lions and bears. The availability depends on the variety of seasons.  Moreover, there is a restaurant for those who are hungry, a fun plaza for the children and a stocked - souvenir shop. They now have some carabet shows from 5.30pm till 9pm consisting of a white tiger show at 5.30pm and 7pm daily (without Wednesday).

Everyone who come to visit this place is suggested to plan their visit ahead of time because the three animal zones have different opening times. Predator Prowl and African Savana are evening zones and open from 18:00 to 23:00 while the day zone (called Jaguar Trail) is open from 11:00 to 23:00. Although the park is open at 11:00 am, it is better to go after sunset, when you can see more animals in action and also watch the water laser light show at the lake. The English - language tram starts after 19:45 so plan to arrive around this time if you do not understand Thai. The laser light show has two rounds: first is 20:00 and the last is 21:00.

As soon as the vehicle arrives at the place, visitors will see some animals around the entrance, for example, the deers walking freely in the parking lot or the white tigers sleeping in the cage. Then, there will be many joyful and interesting activities waiting for them. Definitely, people will forget all your boredom and anxiety.
