The people living in these Chin villages are very friendly and kind. They let tourists visit their place with no offense. So in order to show respect, tourists can bring some goodies to gift the ladies and children there, because these people are the poorest in Myanmar, so something like snacks, candies, hair clips, or vegetables, eggs, etc. would help them a lot. The old ladies will have tattoo on their faces, and in case tourists want to take picture of them, just kindly ask, they will surely let you.

There are actually more than twenty villages around to visit, but there are just around eight Chin villages that tourists tend to visit. One of the most popular villages is Pan Paung village, and you would say it is very touristy just by… looking at your Google map, since it even has a location mark there! Tourists can have so many options of souvenirs for relatives in Pan Paung, especially scarves and towels that are hand-woven.

As mentioned, a local guide on the same boat trip would turn any visit to a really fantastic trip. Since you would have to be on boat for around 2 hours straight, if your tour guide is not Burmese or you go by yourself, it would be so hard to communicate or join the tribal village. So if you come with a local guide, things are not just getting easier, but you can really enjoy a day being local Burmese when you can drink tea, or take pictures.

The best time to visit Chin villages is from November to February in order to fully enjoy the trip due to the nice and pleasant weather.
