Connecting the two banks of Cua Luc Bay (Ha Long City, Quang Ninh), Bai Chay Bridge was built on May 18, 2003 and inaugurated on December 2, 2006. This is a reinforced concrete cable-stayed bridge with a main span length of 435 m, reaching a world record for this type of bridge under this structure. Before Bai Chay Bridge, this record belonged to Sunshine Skyway Bridge in America, with a main span length of 400 m.

Bai Chay Bridge was designed with cables connecting the vertical wire plane, therefore, seen from above, the bridge looks like a giant Harp. The technique to build elastic stay cables in Vietnam is not possible in many other countries, especially the length of the cable-stayed part proved the pinnacle of construction.
