Full Day: Chiang Mai - Chiang Rai - Golden Triangle
- 8:00: Our driver will pick you up from your Chiang Mai hotel and give you a brief overview of today's excursion.
- Pass through rolling hills, descend into steep valleys, and see numerous towns and roadside markets on a fascinating journey from Chiang Mai to Mae Sai.
- Stop along the road to Wat Rong Khun, often known as "the White Temple," a stunning temple complex that is one of the most spectacular in the entire country. Although it is not as old as others in Bangkok, its bright white front, mirrored glass ornaments, and beautifully carved patterns make it stand out.
- Return to the road and proceed to a picturesque Akha and Yao Hill Tribe settlement. After saying 'hello' to the friendly inhabitants, continue on to Chiang Saen and the Golden Triangle, the meeting place of Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar. Take in the breathtaking beauty along the Mekong River and use your camera to capture the panoramic vistas.
- Continue to the Opium House, a museum with opium pipes, knives, and scrappers that portray the history of the opium trade that made this area famous in the not-too-distant past.
- Before returning to Chiang Mai, pay a visit to the famed Mae Sai market. In this busy market area, Thais and Burmese frequently shop, negotiate, and even drink together. Pick up some gifts from the plethora of stalls here, which include handicrafts, fake fashion items, local produce, and antiques.
- Take a break on the direct route back to Chiang Mai, arriving late afternoon.

This is 1 day trip and we can drop you in Chiang Rai instead of coming back to Chiang Mai.

Dear Sirs, The description of this tour indicates that is suitable for young adults, single and solo travelers. Does that means that a 60 years old person can’t go?

Rosie helped me to book a day trip to Chiang Rai, and she made the trip planning a snap. Because Rosie was kind and knew everything so well, she was able to provide a lot of insightful recommendations.
Then we had Nut to accompany us on the day trip, and he also gave us information about the white temple and black home, as well as amusing anecdotes about the artists who created them.
so smooth from beginning till the end. the highlight was the white temple. I also learn so much about history of the 3 countries. local food also well cooked. perfect
The white temple was breathtaking and definitely worth a visit. Lunch was at a nearby Golden Triangle restaurant and had a buffet with an excellent assortment of foods and salads. We then spent some time at the Golden Triangle sightseeing and taking photographs before returning to Chiang Mai.
