Trip itinerary
Morning
Around 08:00: We will get on a 2-hour transfer from Ho Chi Minh City to the Cu Chi Tunnels. Along the way, you can take in the beautiful serene nature around you.
The Cu Chi Tunnels used to be a network of underground passages that served as a home, a storehouse for weapons, and a base for revolutionary attacks on American and South Vietnamese troops. Before the tour begins, we'll watch a brief documentary about how these tunnels were used during the war, which will give you an idea of how severe the conflict was.
We will have some downtime after the visit to relax and sample some of the boiled tapioca and hot tea that was provided to the local soldiers throughout the conflict.
Try shooting at the nearby shooting range to see if you can use an AK-47, M16, or any other machine gun (at your own expense as the activity is not included in the tour price).
At 13:00, the tour comes to a close with a transfer return to Ho Chi Minh City.

Our highlights included a scenic trip to the Mekong Delta and an eye-opening visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels. The train ride to Hanoi was a unique experience, offering a great way to see the Vietnamese countryside. We arrived in Hanoi at 6 AM, so I highly recommend booking your hotel with early check-in (around 7 AM) by paying a small extra fee. It’s well worth it—otherwise, plan to explore the city until your room becomes available at 2 PM.
We also spent a day in Da Nang with a great tour to the Marble Mountains and the impressive Lady Buddha statue. Hoi An was our final stop for the week—there’s so much to see and do! Be prepared for hot and humid weather (26–36°C in July–August), but there's plenty of shopping, local tours, and vibrant nightlife to enjoy. Sports fans should check out 3 Dragons Bar—it’s a great spot to catch AFL and rugby on weekends.
One of the highlights of our trip was cruising Halong Bay aboard the Peony Cruise. The views were stunning, and the boat was top-notch. A two-day cruise is the perfect amount of time to relax and soak it all in.

A journey through time and a fascinating part of history that's rarely explored. This tour was both informative and engaging—far exceeding my expectations.
Our guide was outstanding. As a former American GI, I didn’t experience the war firsthand, but had heard many stories from older peers. This tour brought those stories to life and made the history feel real in a powerful way.
Andy was a nice guy, but neither very experience nor very well organized. The city tour, lunch and the tunnels were all OK, but definitely not the biggest highlights of the entire Vietnam tour.
Had an amazing experience... learned about the tough times people went through. The underground tunnels and the camouflage techniques they used were really cool.
