Lawa Island

Lawa Island (Koh Lawa, Lawa Yai) belongs to Phang Nga Province and is the bigger of two islands together known as the “Lawa Islands”. This island is about 1 km long and half a km at its widest point. This island has 280,000 Sq. m. of land area, more than 2 km coastline.

The Lawa Islands are part of the Ao Phang Nga National Park. Both Lawa Islands are covered with trees and the coasts have some sandy beaches, especially at Lawa Yai.

2. How to get to Lawa island

The easiest way to get to Lawa island is by signing up for a day tour from Phuket or Khao Lak. If you travel to Lawa island from Patong Beach, you'll need to drive to the far northeast part of the island. First, go east on Highway 4029, then north on the 402, and then northeast on Highway 4027 across the Sarasin Bridge. Finally, once over the bridge, follow Highway 4031, which takes you to Laem Khat, where you'll jump a long-tail boat to the island.
