Hello
Can I visit Sapa on Vietnam Family Holiday with Teenager 12 days ?
How hard is trekking in Sapa? Can my 12 years old son join the tour?

Dear Anne,
We can make the tour 14 days by adding Sapa in.
We used to have 12 years old kid on the trekking tour in Sapa, and he enjoyed the tour. I think your kid will enjoy the tour too.
Trekking in Sapa is from 3 km to 12 km a day. You can choose the distance which is suitable for your family.
Many thanks

Hey Kate , yesterday was so much fun! Loved the farming tour!
We’ve had such a great time!
Thank you for everything
Our family has just come back from an amazing 12 days trip with BestPrice Travel. Thanks, Moon had arranged a stress-free trip with many fun activities for our kids. Our hotels, guides, meals were great. Our kids loved the wonderful farm working together in Tra Que Village. We hope to come back here soon together next time.
I don’t think we had a guide in Hanoi. There was a driver who took us to the galaxy grotto and ecolodge. They were ok.
Phi in Ho Chi Minh was excellent. loved her. Her English is 9/10. didn’t understand some things.

Phi in Ho Chi Minh was excellent. loved her. Her English is 9/10. didn’t understand some things.
The guide for biking in Hoi An was ok. — He didn’t offer a lot of information, but he was nice.———————The kayaking guide was friendly.
Angle Palace Hotel Hanoi very nice. pretty. good breakfast. Staff was helpful. I didn’t like having to cross the street to get to van however. dangerous crossing. I wish the van could have dropped us off and picked us up on the same side of the street as the hotel.
Hoi An: We stayed at under the coconut tree. that was very nice. close to beach. close to beauty salons where we got massages, facials, pedicures, etc. could rent motorbikes super cheap.
Swan Cruise ——nice, pretty, good food, just needed more activities on board. they taught how to make spring rolls but we had already learned that twice before we got to the cruise. once in Mekong and once at Galaxy grotto.
– Phong Nha Lake House ————very nice. pretty. it would have been better to stay here 2 nights so we could have had longer to enjoy it. or I would have preferred a 2 day cave trip where they camp in the cave. Rao Con village homestay was not so nice. My husband liked it because he thought it was very authentic, but the kids and I didn’t. Here were the problems with the trip to Rao Con village:
1. The trail to get there is not used much and overgrown and dangerous. many vines that wrap around your feet and trip you. many hooks that hang from these vines that snag you. dead wood that I stepped on and fell through.
2. the barbeque was 100% meat and too much meat! But sitting in the waterfall while they were cooking the meat was fun.
3. the home stay has no beds. just sleep on hard wood floor outside (on stilts) There was a grass mat that fit 2 people. no pillows. there was a hammock for one person. I tried to sleep on it but it was tied very close to tour guide’s hammock and he kicks his legs while sleeping and kicked me a few times. there were 2 tents but no one slept in them because they didn’t get any breeze inside and it was very hot.
4. no toilets. just go behind a tree.
5. the people in the village were not so interested in tourists. They didn’t give us a tour or try to talk to us- through the translator/tour guide. I ended up playing with the kids. we swam with them and I played billiards with them.
The Sa Pa ecolodge was very nice- beautiful- loved it. The trekking and biking in Sa pa were very nice.
I wish I had an extra day in Hanoi- very nice city. enjoyed exploring hte ancient streets.
The cave tourguide in phong nga was very difficult to understand. horrendous pronunciation.
the lunch in Hue was very bland. Sometimes the set meals were not the best. I would prefer going anywhere and ordering my own food.
The best meal was at the house in Hoi An that we biked to- where they weave mattresses.
