An Phuoc Village

An Phuoc Village is a small village of about 2000ha and located along Co Chien River of about 4km northeast of Mang Thit District and 19km from Vinh Long town. Accessible by both waterways and roads, the village is a typical commune of the Mekong Delta where people survives from rice and fruit growing and handicraft making.

Situated right next to Co Chien river, An Phuoc village is blessed with fresh water all year around. With an available canal system, An Phuoc is able to plant different type of fruit such as durian, longan, grapefruit, orange, durian and mangosteen on its alluvial soil. In recent years, taking advantage of the rivers, farmers have strongly developed the aquaculture industry, bringing high harvests, contributing to promoting the agricultural structure shifting towards a positive direction.

With traditional handicraft

The handicraft industry also thrives in Mang Thit, especially the craft of making fine ceramics. Mang Thit fine art pottery has distinctive colors and designs from simple to sophisticated, attracting consumers at home and abroad. The kilns producing baked bricks and fine-art ceramics concentrate in Nhon Phu Phu, My An and My Phuoc communes… Mang Thit fine art ceramic products have been present in the world market, especially in Asia - Europe. In addition, there are other handicraft items: rattan, weaving and knitting, etc.
