We both have been retired for years and don't know how many trips like this we can have. Thanks a lot for planning this tour so well that we didn't have to worry about anything while traveling, especially Ms. Moon - who worked so hard to fix the itinerary to fit our health conditions.
The only problem… More We both have been retired for years and don't know how many trips like this we can have. Thanks a lot for planning this tour so well that we didn't have to worry about anything while traveling, especially Ms. Moon - who worked so hard to fix the itinerary to fit our health conditions.
The only problem we had on this journey was the food in Laos which had strong flavors and quite over with both of us. But we both enjoy the food in the two other countries, especially the fresh seafood that we had in a small vendor near Hoi An beach.
We both miss the ancient beauty of Siem Reap and how colorful and interesting the Mekong Delta was. We want to come back but just don't know when as there are many places that we are planning to visit before we can't travel anymore, but hope that we can get back to these countries on another journey. We consider our trip to have been a trip of a lifetime. It was very well organized and full of plenty of activities and cultural sites that kept us interested for the entire trip. The guides and drivers were excellent and always on time. Most hotels were excellent, I will detail issues below.

Hanoi was a lot of fun to explore. An extra day or two there might have been nice on our own or maybe a foodie/cooking tour.
Sapa was beautiful and we are so glad we saw it. I know we were given fair warning about the lady hawkers but they were relentless long after we said NO! In the long run I think this will hurt Sapa if they don't get it under control. I wouldn't choose to return to Sapa because of the hawkers. Beautiful place but not a fun experience being hounded while you are sitting down for drinks or a meal even at our home stay. The van ride returning to Sapa was brutal due to road conditions.
Hue - the men were approached three times with offers of drugs. Not the best impression for tourists.
HoiAn - Loved loved loved exploring this town on our own. The walking tour guide we had was the worst guide we had. She was very soft spoken and her English was very difficult to understand. I think we all shut down pretty quickly. I think HoiAn is set up such that tourists could follow a walking tour on their own.
Nha Trang - The hotel catered to Chinese and Russian guests with little focus on English speaking visitors. I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Guests were very loud in the hallways coming in at night. A worker pushed my husband out of the way getting into an elevator. The bar on the pool level was separate from the hotel and did not bill to the room and while the front desk informed us of the pool and bar they did not inform us of the bar being separate from the hotel requiring payment rather than bill to room. If a tourist wants those beach days I would suggest a hotel on the beach. The beach was beautiful!
Vien Vang Laos - unless you have guests who want the outdoor adventures I would skip this stop. Hotel was terrible both in food and accommodations.
Locals Night Train - our sleeping berth was infested with cockroaches. This was nearly a breaking point for us. We seriously considered flying home at that point. I would strongly advise against this train!!!!
Vientiene - original hotel was not the best, the breakfast was out of food very early in the morning and there was no water and the front desk was not forthcoming about the problem. The hotel we moved to was awesome!
I have already recommended Best Price to several people and will continue to do so. We will definitely use Best Price when we travel to Southeast Asia again.
