FAQs
Though each region has its different climate (the North, Central, and South), you still have an incredible trip at the best time, depending on your needs.
However, if weather is the most important factor to you, opt for March - April & September - October as this time is suitable for traveling around the entire country because of the nice weather and low cancellation chance of bad weather.
It’s still ok for anyone who cannot visit Vietnam during these months:
- May - August: Best for beach vacations, when you can have a good dose of Vitamin Sea through various thrilling aquatic activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, parasailing, etc.
- November - December: Ideal for an adventurous trekking tour in North Vietnam to see endless terraced paddy fields covered in snow and enjoy the cool atmosphere of mountainous areas

For the British tourists, it is suggested that you should spend a long holiday in Vietnam with a duration from 10 days to 3 weeks, as the flight time back and forth can be up to 3-4 days in total. Here are our detailed suggestions:
- 5 days - 7 days: Usually only suitable with anyone who comes to Vietnam for the second time or combining business trips.
- 10 days - 14 days: The most popular choice of our British guests to see all the highlights of Vietnam from North to South and relax on the most stunning beaches or challenge themselves on a thrilling adventure by trekking, hiking, or motorbiking.
- 2 - 3 weeks: For individuals who wish to see Vietnam more thoroughly or want to combine neighboring countries into the itinerary, such as Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, or Bali

Yes, Vietnam is generally a very safe destination for international travelers, including solo travelers and families. However, like any country, being aware of specific safety topics can help ensure a smooth trip. Here's what you need to know:
- Public Security
Vietnam is politically stable with low violent crime rates. Petty crimes like pickpocketing or bag snatching may occur in crowded tourist areas, so keep your belongings close and avoid showing valuables in public.
- Traffic Safety
Traffic in major cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City can be chaotic, with a high number of motorbikes and limited pedestrian infrastructure. Always be cautious when crossing streets and consider using ride-hailing apps like Grab instead of renting motorbikes unless you’re experienced.
- Food & Drink Hygiene
Street food is a highlight of Vietnam, but make sure to eat at stalls or restaurants that are busy and appear clean. Avoid tap water - stick to bottled water and use it even when brushing your teeth. Be cautious with ice and unwashed fruits.
- Natural Disasters
Vietnam’s climate includes typhoons (July - October in Central and Northern regions) and seasonal flooding in the Mekong Delta and Central areas. Check weather updates and avoid affected regions during heavy rains.
- Health Care
Vietnam has international hospitals in major cities like Vinmec, French Hospital, and FV Hospital. These offer 24/7 care with English-speaking doctors and multilingual staff.

Generally, when traveling to Vietnam, you have to notice two important things about the electricity in this country - plugs and voltage:
- The common electricity voltage here is 220 Volt at 50 Hz
The thing you should do first is checking your device’s details - if there is a line like “100 - 240V, 50 - 60Hz”, that means your device can fit different voltage levels from 100 to 240 Volt, from 50 to 60 Hz.
Otherwise, you will need a converter to change the initial voltage to match the device specifications. You can buy it at any electric store in Vietnam with a price of US $4 - 8.
- 3 sorts of plugs can be used in Vietnam: Type A, Type C, and Type F
Most electrical outlets in Vietnam have 2 holes, which is only suitable for two-pin plugs, including Type A (two flat vertical pins), Type C & Type F (two round pins). Three-pin plugs will require an adapter to be usable.
Like the converter, an adapter can also be found at electric stores with a price of US $1 - 4.
Small note: You can ask the receptionists to borrow one at your hotels as an alternative option.
Tipping is not compulsory since it’s not part of Vietnam culture, you do not have to tip everywhere when traveling in the country. You can choose to tip as a thank you to the staff providing you with good services, they will be happy and highly appreciate that.
If you are wondering how much is suitable for tipping, check out our suggestions below:
*Note: You should tip in USD as it is the most popular foreign currency in Vietnam
Tour guide | Private Tours: US $7 - 10 Group Tours: US $3 - 5 |
Taxi driver | US $3 - 5 |
Bellman | US $2 - 4 |
Housekeeper | About US $2 |
Restaurant Waiter/Waitress | US $1 - 3 |
Spa Staff | US $5 - 8 |
Yes, you should. Though Travel Insurance is not always mandatory for international travel, buying it is still a wise decision since the insurance will prevent you from unpredictable financial losses.
Medical emergencies, flight cancellations, money losses, etc., can happen at any time during your future trip - and when they occur, the insurance will work and take care of your expenses. Hence, Travel Insurance is very important for your trip.
It’s highly recommended to buy Travel Insurance in your country before the journey. If you need help buying insurance, contact our sales consultants for support.

Travelers from small-group tours rarely go together from the beginning until the end. They usually meet each other halfway because they can partly customize the journey, leading to great participation and wonderful experiences when meeting new friends.
Currently, Vietnam is positioned 34th on the global fixed internet ranking while standing 19th in mobile internet speed. Thus, accessing the internet in this country is as easy as pie. Excluding some specific places, such as secluded mountainous areas or offshore, free WiFi can be found in airports, coffee shops, restaurants, and hotels.
However, for more stable, faster WiFi, you should purchase a 4G/ 5G SIM card to access the Internet at any time of day. A Vietnamese SIM is not too expensive, only from USD 5.5, and you can buy them on platforms like Klook / KKday, or at airports, phone stores, and mobile network providers’ stores. Also, there are options for eSim, which are a little cheaper, only from US $4.
Best mobile network brands in Vietnam:
SIM Card Providers | Price Per 4G SIM |
---|---|
Viettel | From US $6.5 - 16.5 |
Vinafone | From US $5.5 - 7.5 |
Mobifone | From US $4.5 - 9.5 |

We had such a great time on the coconut boat tour. It started with lantern making, which was so much fun, followed by a ride in the coconut boats that had us laughing the whole way. Both activities were such enjoyable experiences, and I’d definitely recommend them to other travelers.

They made sure we had all the information we needed before our trip and were incredibly helpful in rearranging the itinerary to fit our specific needs. While we were in Siem Reap, they checked in with us almost every day to make sure everything was going smoothly, which we really appreciated.
Our tour guide, Nan, was friendly, knowledgeable, and full of fascinating historic details about each temple we visited. Our driver, Kong Kea, also took excellent care of us — the car was always cool and comfortable when we returned, with a cold bottle of water waiting. He was a safe, reliable driver, which made the whole trip even more relaxing.
We loved visiting the temples; they were absolutely magnificent. The mountain tour with the river and waterfall was beautiful, and the sunset dinner cruise was a perfect way to end the day.
The Borei Angkor Resort & Spa, arranged by BestPrice Travel, was outstanding — luxurious, comfortable, and a true highlight of the trip.
We were so happy with every aspect of their service and will definitely choose BestPrice Travel again for our next trip to Asia. Less

From start to finish, everything was well-organized and professionally handled.
Our travel consultant, Ms. Hang Moon, was amazing—super responsive, helpful, and thoughtful throughout the planning and the trip itself. She made everything feel stress-free, and her attention to detail was truly appreciated.
The itinerary matched exactly what was promised online, and all the destinations were well-chosen. We got to experience the best of each country without feeling rushed. Most of the accommodations exceeded expectations—especially the hotel in Hoi An and the Halong Bay cruise, which was a real highlight. The staff on the cruise were exceptional!
Our local guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and added so much value. Special shoutouts to Jack in Ho Chi Minh City (great English and insights), Jojo in Thailand (very flexible), and our guide in Cambodia, who went above and beyond with everything—including taking beautiful photos for us!
There were just a few minor hiccups—some itinerary stops felt repetitive (e.g., similar souvenir workshops in different cities), and a couple of hotel issues (like a stuffy room in Chiang Mai and unhelpful service in HCMC). But these were small compared to the overall quality of the trip.
We would definitely recommend BestPrice Travel to anyone visiting the Indochina region, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again. Huge thanks to Ms. Hang Moon and the whole team for making this such a memorable journey! Less
