The legend has it…
Walking along Orchid Spring, visitors reach a garden is designed as a thousand-year forest. Formed by many small streams flowing down from the rocky slopes of Hon Heo Mountain, there are hundreds of wild orchids collected abroad and throughout the country. In fact there are more than 3,000 specimens of 39 orchid species within the park’s grotto-like “Cave of Orchid Flowers”.

Orchid Spring is rooted in an old love story between a poor man and a girl born to a rich family. The man was asked to bring aloe and salanganes, two of the region’s precious species, as betrothal gifts. They set off to find the offerings but found nothing and the man died protecting the girl from beast. The girl cried herself into a stream of tears, now runs throughout the peninsula. Where the man bled, one can find various orchids growing and blossoming.

Now an eco-tourism area
Continuing up the mountain, tourists can enjoy the pure water from the Orchid Waterfall at 900m above the sea level.
