I am think of coming to Vietnam for two weeks and was going to fly from Da Nang to Hanoi then go onto to Halong Bay - Is it better to go straight onto a cruise in Halong Bay from the airport OR to stay in Hanoi for a couple of days first before the cruise?
I think you should stay in Hanoi the night before the trip start so that it's not too rush for you

3.1. Guide in Hanoi
10 Excellent guide, enjoyed his food tour, lovely experience. Would recommend him to others. The dinner included with our city tour was mediocre and alittle disappointing, we would have preferred a more traditional Vietnamese dinner (it seemed to be more "touristy" than traditional and we found it disappointing) Mr.Thom did not join us on this so we could not let him know our preference. -----
3.2. Guide in Hue/ Hoi An
9.5 Again very professional and helpful, lots of local knowledge. We referred him to others as well. The drivers you used throughout the tour were also very good.-
3.3. Guide in Ho Chi Minh
6.5 Could have been better, he (Tiger)did not seem fully engaged with us or the tour. We would lose track of him at some of the stops. -

4.1. Hotel in Hanoi
10 Nice room, good location, okay beds, decent breakfast and the most amazing staff which made our stay. Loved staying here. Would recommend to anyone as the staff truly go above and beyond for their guests. Great choice.
4.2. Cruise in Halong
9 Was a wonderful experience and the upgraded boat was so nice.-Lovely dining as well. We all enjoyed this part of the tour. -
4.3. Hotel in Hue
9.5 A lovely hotel and the rooms we were given were amazing, breakfast was good, great pool. The location was good as well. You spoiled us here.
4.4. Hotel in Hoi An
---7.5 Decent hotel, not very comfortable beds, ok breakfast. Good location for sight seeing. Okay pool. -
4.5. Hotel in Ho Chi Minh
7 Would have preferred a different location, the rooms were small and functional but no redeeming features to them, personally I would choose a different hotel. We experienced some difficulty using the laundry service which caused some stress but the manager dealt with it. The breakfast was ok the coffee not so much.----- Less

Sapa, was incredible. The hotel in Mai Chau was amazing. We LOVED LOVED THE cruise. They were 5 star excellent! Loved the crew too!

If I were to give any feedback, I’d say the tirant hotel was ok. Room not great. Got mosquitos, No view, just concrete window and they had private party so we got kicked off rooftop early. So not too much swimming for kid. (Don’t worry, I talked to them, they’re very nice and apologized)
Our tour guide in Mai Chau was ok, he didn’t seem to want to be there. Wanted to leave early. I think next time, better to get local tour guide that lives there like Lu from Sapa. She knew everything about her village and was very patient. And we didn’t feel rushed.
Alex to our trip planner however was spectacular! Very responsive to all emails and text!
Overall, excellent trip! It was so special and my dad really loved it! He said it was a trip of a lifetime! So again, thank you from the bottom of my heart! I will definitely be recommending Alex from best price travel for friends and family because now they all want to go! Less

9.5/10 Mr Thieu was very professional and helpful, gave us lots of information and we actually referred him to other friends travelling in Vietnam the following week!
3.3. Guide in Ho Chi Minh
6.5 - 7/10 Ms Mai picked us up at the airport but unfortunately she had a family issue so 'Tiger' was our newly assigned guide for the Cu Chi Tunnels & city tour.
He was OK, but he continually coughed and cleared his throat which had us wondering if he was ill? In a time like this (post-COVID) we did have concerns about it and I finally asked if he was sick? He said no, it's due to the pollution. It would have been a better option for a guide to wear a face mask if they even appear to be ill, or explain at the beginning and ask how we felt about a mask vs no mask. The City tour didn't even include the 'walking street' and when we found it on our return to Saigon we were wondering why it wasn't on the tour? Also he often didn't wait for us and we would wait for him to show up. Didn't seem fully engaged.
4. Accommodation
4.1. Hotel in Hanoi
Loved this hotel, especially the staff. They made all of us feel special there, truly the best hotel customer service levels of our tour. Special shoutout to Clarence and Don for their utmost attention that we were always looked after. Good location and we loved walking around the town, good buffet and EXCELLENT coffee! This one is a keeper!
4.2. Cruise in Halong Bay
Lovely cruise, thank you for the upgrade! The rooms were beautiful and we felt pampered. My only feedback would be that it would be helpful if they provide a written itinerary as there was some confusion amongst all of us. We had only 18 people on our cruise and the staff to customer ratio was probably the same. Clean rooms, good food and great experience, thank you!
4.3. Hotel in Hue
We were upgraded again (thank you) and had an absolutely lovely room. Staff were good, but the buffet items were frequently not as hot as they should be, including the coffee. It was noticed that the coffee burner was off so one of us turned it on and they turned it off again? I realize that Vietnamese like their coffee cold but Western travellers like their coffee hot. Good location and pleasant staff.
4.4. Hotel in Hoi An
Perfect location, close enough to walk into town in minutes but far enough to avoid the crowds and noise. Buffet breakfast was good and they were kind enough to leave coffee in various areas so you could easily refill as needed. Room was comfortable and the pool was a welcome retreat.
4.5. Hotel in Ho Chi Minh
The hotel was lovely but our room faced a wall (so we just kept the curtains closed). The buffet was good and the rooftop pool was used by us regularly. One night it was closed off completely as there was a private function (wedding) and my only suggestion would be they put up a notification the day prior that it will be closed, as we often looked forward to using it after a hot day out. The breakfast was good and the staff friendly.
As you know two of us returned to Saigon and we opted for a different area (near the Bitexco Tower) for our next hotel. It was a completely different experience and we loved it! It showed us a different experience and it was at that point that we fell in love with Saigon.
We are still travelling but once we are home I will add a BestPrice Travel review and mention you specifically. It really was a spectacular tour and your personal, professional assistance was greatly appreciated. You were quick to respond to any inquiries, available for last minute requests and we felt safe and confident while there under your wing. Thank you again! Less

The entire trip was flawless and our guides showed genuine concern for both the adults and twin babies, making sure that we had a memorable experience. The journey was particularly eye-opening, adventurous, and captivating for our baby twins, who will hold onto these memories for years to come. As for the adults, we were pleasantly surprised by the variety of activities included in our itinerary, such as visiting archaeological sites, swimming, kayaking, riding small boats, and enjoying excellent meals on board our cruise. Each island and activity offered a unique experience that we thoroughly enjoyed. We highly recommend BestPrice Travel! Less
