Kayaking

Kayak is a small, relatively narrow boat primarily designed for 2 people. Kayaking in Halong Bay is the best way to explore the stunning beauty of the Bay. Paddle through islets to discover hidden caves, lakes, unspoiled beaches and floating fishing villages… When kayaking, you must follow your tour guide; it is risky to do by yourself without warning or instruction. Caving

When in Halong Bay, visiting caves is an indispensable activity. There are plenty of hidden caves and grottos, lakes and lagoons inside the islands. The most famous caves are: Dau Go Cave, Thien Cung Cave, Sung Sot Cave, Trinh Nu Cave... Each cave has a lot of mysteries and interesting things waiting for you to discover. Because they are all located on the sea, you have to take a cruise to travel around the Bay to visit the islands and caves.

Fishing

Fishing is one of the daily life activities of local fisherman in Halong Bay. Fishing is an interesting activity at which tourists can experience the feeling of being a truly fisherman. There are some ideal places for fishing such as Titov Island, Cong Do Lake or fishing villages.

Squid fishing on Halong Bay is a favorite activity at night. Tourists will have the instruction from local fishermen about how to fish a squid in the sea. And the caught squids will be used to make dishes for you.

Swimming

Halong Bay is also a suitable place for swimming. There are many charming and beautiful beaches like Titov, Soi Sim, Ba Trai Dao, Ngoc Vung. Most of them have pure water, idyllic sands so you can totally relax on the sandbank while enjoying the stunning scenery. You can not swim in later autumn and winter because it's quite cold.

In Halong Bay, tourists don’t have to worry about shark when swimming. However, you may get a little trouble with local jelly fish because it can cause itching and irritating. This symptom can be treated by covering a slice of lemon or vinegar on the skin.
