Cam Thanh Village has been planting nipa palms to protect itself from the floods of Thu Bon River, as well as storms in monsoon season. The forest shelters the whole village, provides ingredient for handicraft making and helps create a stable income for the villagers. The nipa palm forest is full of birds and fishes, and hence, Cam Thanh Village became one of the sources for fresh seafood, vegetable, and rice for the whole Hoi An.

Under the shade of nipa palms, visitors can explore the wetland ecological system in coracles, the ever traditional means of moving around or natives, crafted of woven bamboo.
