After a few months closed all border gates to prevent Covid-19, Vietnam finally decides to comeback as a safe destination for foreign tourists. The first step to welcome worldwide tourists is that Vietnam government decided to grant again the E-visa for citizens of about 80 countries from 1st July 2020. There is no doubt that this is a very good news for not only Vietnam tourism but also every foreign tourists who has been staying at home because of social distance and has to cancel all travelling plans for such a long time.

Since 2017, as a policy for tourism development, the Vietnam government has experimented on granting E-visa to citizens from about 40 countries; however, in March 2020, the program was stopped due to the influence of Coronavirus outbreak in a worldwide scale.
The E-visa is granted to foreigners by the Vietnam Immigration Department through the online transaction system. Due to the policy of the Vietnam government, Vietnam E-visa is only for single entry and values in no more than 30 days. The visa fee is paid through the online payment method and the rate is regulated by the Vietnam Immigration Department.
As mentioned above, Vietnam is going to grant the E-visa for citizens from about 80 countries such as the United States, United Kingdom, France, Italia, Spain, Japan, Korea, China, etc. It is quite surprising that many countries are affecting strongly by the outbreak of Covid-19 were named in the list; however, this may be the positive signal for the confidence in preventing the disease of the Vietnam government.

Due to the resolution from the Vietnam government, it seems like both business and tourist visa will be granted, however, the rules and policy for granting E-visa at this time may be tightened due to the complicated movements of the outbreak of Covid-19. Besides, the medical check will be applied strongly at all border checkpoints that allow tourist check-in for the best control of the disease.
Due to the influence of Conoravirus outbreak, not all the border gates in Vietnam accept the E-visa, the visa will only be acceptable at some checkpoints as below:
Although the decision from Vietnam government about when and how the arrival and departure international flights can be operated as usual; however, as the E-visa will be granted soon this July, it is hoped that the international flights will be operated soon enough and also other visa types, especially the Vietnam on-arrival visa will be processed again in this year.
